COMMON AREAS

There are plenty of common areas to relax in or socialize with other guests. You can find your own private place to fully relax and enjoy Ashlea House, your home away from home.

There are two parlours where you can relax and read literature about the local areas and the history of Lunenburg. Our gazebo, the back deck and the magnificent view from widow’s watch will take your breath away.

Dining Room

The Dining Room is a fantastic place for breakfast, it features high ceilings, deep trim and a large dining table that seats twelve. This is where we will be serving our communal breakfast. There is a side door which takes you to the Gazebo, come down early grab a coffee and a scone and head outside to enjoy the early morning before breakfast.

Ashlea House features a Front and Back Parlour. The word parlour originates from the French word parlëure or parler which means “to speak” or “conversation.” They were used to receive and entertain guests and a gathering place for family. Our parlours have reflected that with the front being more traditional and the back being more comfortable. In either space come in relax, chat, read or just hang out. 

This is a favourite spot in Ashlea House and the inspiration for our new logo. The high up views of the harbour and out to Battery Point Breakwater Lighthouse are amazing.

The front gardens and walkway up to the house make for a grand entry to the house and cool spot to hang out and relax.

We have outfitted the Fitness Room with a treadmill, exercise bike and free weights for our guests to enjoy.
